Drive your kid to and from school? How much is an extra hour a day worth?
Dream it.
This all started when Lafayette resident and avid bicyclist Eric Law realized that he would have to drive his young children to high school in the future. Crossing the Highway 24 cloverleaf (four on/off ramps) along Pleasant Hill Road is already way too dangerous for bikers, never mind teenagers going to school.
Grow it.
While the project will be eligible for grants and public dollars, there is still the greater need to raise private donations in order to make this dedicated bike and pedestrian path a reality. Financial support is required to provide reporting and studies to guide the most effective plan of execution.
Build it.
As a dedicated group of concerned citizens, we bring passion and professional skills. We’re working with the City of Lafayette, CalTrans and relevant agencies to build this path. This is not a project for the faint of heart. But we have the safety of our kids and the biking community at the center of our efforts.
